Hello Girija,

I can see that you are switching between the Geostatistics and Geoprocessing forum/mailinglist.
Please decide for one of them.
As for your problem, you will have to add &version=1.0.0 to the request.

Cheers,

Benjamin

Hello Girija,

It is probably ok to post questions in multiple forums, it just got a bit confusing in the end.

I don't understand what you mean here, I am afraid.

Girija wrote

Let me give you an example:

You deploy a R script named xy.r in the folder /R/scripts in your WPS directory.
In the script there is a line

# wps.des: demo.script

or

# wps.des: id = demo.script

The resulting process identifier would be "org.n52.wps.server.r.demo.script".

You can request the process description via (replace localhost:8080/wps with your setup, if necessary):

http://localhost:8080/wps/WebProcessingService?request=DescribeProcess&service=WPS&version=1.0.0&identifier=org.n52.wps.server.r.demo.script

Hope this helps.

Yeah I followed everything as it is. But when i request for "Describe Process" it says the algorithm isnt found.
Should I give "abc.script" or "abc" (abc is my r-script name here). Cuz I have tried with just abc

Please attach the script file. If that should be not possible for you,
please tell us the file name and the id of the script.

To find the id, open the script with a text editor and look for the line:

# wps.des:

or

# wps.des: id =

The text that follows is the id that we need to know.

Re: Error when requesting for Describe Process while executing WPS4R

BenjaminPross
Well, if you have put that script in the /R/scripts folder of your WPS and the connection to rserve is set up correctly, then you can get the process description via the following request (replace localhost:8080/wps with your setup, if necessary):

http://localhost:8080/wps/WebProcessingService?request=DescribeProcess&service=WPS&version=1.0.0&identifier=org.n52.wps.server.r.RandomNumbers

In the script is says:

# wps.des: RandomNumbers

and that results in the process identifier "org.n52.wps.server.r.RandomNumbers"

If this should not work, please tell us the WPS version you are using, as shiva requested a few posts before.

Sir, Im still unsure if Rserve is correctly configured. I just tested running it as a standalone and it shows, "Rserve ready to answer queries". Is there any other way to check it out? How do i test if Rserve is properly configured and is connecting to wps?

Re: Error when requesting for Describe Process while executing WPS4R

BenjaminPross
If you did not change any settings of Rserve or the LocalRAlgorithm repository in the WPS, it should work.

To test whether the the connection to Rserve works properly, you could first check out the capabilities:

http://localhost:8080/wps/WebProcessingService?Request=GetCapabilities&Service=WPS

then search for any processes starting with

org.n52.wps.server.r.

A number of R processes should be there by default.

If there are no such processes, then the LocalRAlgorithm is not configured properly or not activated.
In this case please tell us whether you have downloaded the WPS .war file and the version. If you have built the WPS on you own, also tell us which version you are using and/or which branch of the GitHub project. If you build the WPS on your own, you will have to make sure to use the "with-geotools" profile to be able to connect to R afterwards.

If there are R processes in the capabilities, go to http://localhost:8080/wps/test.html, select "R_uniform.xml" from the drop box and click "send". Tell us the response of the WPS.

Re: Error when requesting for Describe Process while executing WPS4R

Girija
Sir,
I have cloned into https://github.com/52North/WPS - downloaded as a zip file,
unzipped into a directory and then gave maven command to install, once the installation was successful, i exported to eclipse,
Started the tomcat in eclipse, imported wps.war, then -> run on server.
With this, I could access front page.
Now, WebAdmin-> Uploaded LocalRalgorithmRepo and gave the RServe host/pwd/uname/port number.
Now, in R, I have written a script deployed into R/Scripts, but I couldnot see.
I downloaded R as a R-package, it was working fine, but I dint see it getting connected to wps, so I have installed R from- http://wiki.obiba.org/display/OPALDOC/R+Server+Installation+Guide#RServerInstallationGuide-InstallationofRServerAdminZipdistribution link then, I got R-config file, I edited the config file as

##
## Rserve configuration file
##

## Connection from remote host can be: enable/disable
remote enable

## Encoding
encoding utf8

## Uncomment the following section to activate authenticated connections
## Password file is expected to have lines like:
## <username> <password>

#auth required
plaintext enable
pwdfile G:/Software/R-3.1.1/bin/x64/RserveAuth.txt

then restarted, now I can see a new port being added without my conscious, 14116 on which wps runs.

And as a response to your mentioned questions, I didnot see any org.52n.wps.server.r.xyz files in the getcapabilities, which means, Im not connected to Rserve. But when I run it externally, it seems to be working fine.
How do I deal with this.? :(

Alright, as I was mentioning you need to build the WPS using the profile "with-geotools".
If you run the build from the command line, you will have to run mvn install -Pwith-geotools

If you are using Eclipse, right click on 52n-wps-parent -> Run As -> Maven build... (mind the dots)
In the dialog use install for the Goals textfield and with-geotools for the Profiles textfield.
Click run and the WPS should be built.

After the build finished, you will have to activate the LocalRAlgorithmRepository in the WPS config. As I see from your very last post that you currently cannot use the admin console (give me a minute to check this), I would suggest that you directly modify the wps_config_geotools.xml located in the config directory of the WPS. Search for LocalRAlgorithmRepository and set the active attribute to true.

Hope this helps.

Sir, I just followed what you said on my lappie (not the system on which web admin wasnt workring), but this time, wen i access the admin console, it doesnot take the default wps and wps anymore, and when i start it externally, it works fine, but i cannot see any LocalRAlgorithmRepo installed.

Re: Error when requesting for Describe Process while executing WPS4R

Girija
i did sir, telnet is working fine. Rserve seems to be connected. But unshown for wps.
And when i build with geotools using maven, (in a different system) it shows error, Failed to clean 52n-wps-common\target\test classes.
Initially, when i built the project it was fine. Is it that a project should be built only once?

You can test the connection using telnet:

Hope this helps.
