Missing R-functionality in WPS 3.3.2

M.Jackenkroll

Hey list,

I installed the 52N WPS (52n-wps-webapp-3.3.2-SNAPSHOT based on  ..1665e1b7b2188755161d4f0f3a6acf562d0444e1 built at 2015-05-23
00:56:16). Basic functonalities seem to work (GetCapabilities). But
there are no R processes in the capabilities listed, which is harmful
cause I want to use these.

During start up there is an exception in the wps-log:
2015-07-06 08:45:19,147 [localhost-startStop-1] INFO
org.n52.wps.commons.WPSConfig: Can not get java:comp/env context
javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Name [wps.config.file] is not
bound in this Context. Unable to find [wps.config.file].

Do you have any idea what is going wrong here?

Regards
Markus

Hi Markus,

Assuming that you built the WPS yourself, you will have to do the following to make the R-functionality work:
  • re-build the WPS with the profile "with-geotools"
  • open the config file "wps_config_geotools.xml"
  • navigate to the following line and set the active attribute to "true": <Repository name="LocalRAlgorithmRepository" className="org.n52.wps.server.r.LocalRAlgorithmRepository" active="false">
  • Adjust the R_Rserve* properties of the LocalRAlgorithmRepository to your setup, i.e. to your Rserve instance [1]. If you are running a local instance of Rserve, you can keep the default values
  • (Re-)Start the WPS and you should see the R processes
Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Benjamin

[1] To install Rserve locally, you will need to install R. Start the programme and install the Rserve package via "install.packages("Rserve")". Afterwards start Rserve via "library(Rserve)" followed by "Rserve()".
