sensorML parser

sammeek
Hi,

I am trying to find a parser for sensorML for use within the WPS. Are there instructions somewhere on how to do this? I have had a look on the wiki to no avail.

Thanks

The SOS has a parser that you might be able to use. Or you simply use
the XMLBeans [1].

But without knowing your use case it's really hard to give any advice.
Can you elaborate, please?

Re: sensorML parser

Hi Daniel,

I'm using a workflow engine to orchestrate WPS calls.

The WPS java client parses WFS GetFeature urls into org.geotools.feature.FeatureCollection that can be used internally within processes and the process results can be passed to another WPS process. I'm looking for something similar to pass SOS GetObservation urls into a FeatureCollection or something similar.

Thanks

Ok. I was confused, because SensorML is only for sensor description
metadata. You want to parse SOS responses, which are O&M (Observations
and Measurements) documents.

Can you confirm that?

There currently is no build-in transformer for O&M to FeatureCollection,
so you will have to parse the O&M document yourself within your process.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Apologies, I got my terminology mixed up.

OK, I can write a parser for O&M documents, I will share when completed.

Have a look at the project OX-Framework [1] and the XMLBeans [2] from
the xml-common project - they might be of help.
